Hey guys! We’ve finally got our new site up and running. There’s not much there yet but we’ll be adding content as quickly as we can. Come check it out!
This blog will still be around, but the plan is to make it a place for Lena and I to blog about the project itself, sort of a journal of our experiences. Thanks for your support.
The show was a complete success at Infinitus. Congratulations to the cast, crew, and orchestra. Lena and Mallory couldn’t be more proud. All the hard work paid off and the positive feedback has been wonderful.
The entire show was recorded and will be on YouTube as soon as it gets edited. We’re guessing early September. There will be posts here and all over Facebook and Twitter letting you know when it goes live.

Those of you who watched the show live heard Mallory say “Let’s do it again at LeakyCon!” and she was absolutely serious. The show will be performed again and we hope to see you there! Check back in November for details on new auditions.

We are looking for a talented group of instrumentalists to play in the pit orchestra for The Final Battle! I don’t expect the music to be extremely difficult (besides some changing time-signatures and tough key signatures) but because of the limited size of the room and sound capabilities of the hotel, we only have room for a very SMALL orchestra containing the following:
1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 clarinet, 1 french horn, 2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 string bass, 1 piano, 1 electric guitar (ability to read sheet music or pop chord symbols/ TAB greatly appreciated!)
I will also *possibly* need (depending on hotel logistics) 1 bassoon, 1 trombone, 1 timpani/ other percussion (I already have someone playing drum kit)
If you play ANY of these instruments and are interested in playing in the pit, please send an email to thefinalbattle2010@gmail.com by January 30th (VERY sorry for the short notice!) with the answers to the following 8 questions:

5.Experience for each instrument (awards, ensembles, number of years, etc.) If you are a guitarist, how much music do you read? Do you read TAB or pop chord symbols?:
6.Did you try out for an acting role TFB? If so, would you rather play in the pit or be in the chorus? In addition, if you got called back, would you rather play in the pit or have a smaller role in the show?
7.We are looking into renting some of the larger instruments in Orlando. That being said, will you be able to transport your instrument (besides piano) to Infinitus? If not, PLEASE don’t worry. We will work something out, we’re just getting an idea of what’s available to us.
8. Will you be able to arrive at the Royal Pacific Hotel by 5pm on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 for an orchestra rehearsal? (Yes, I know that’s VERY early, but it’s the only time we can fit in a rehearsal for the pit before the cast arrives.)
If there is enough interest for specific instruments, I will ask you to send in a video clip of you playing, but don’t worry about that for now!
I think I am *extra* excited about this aspect of the show! Can’t wait to hear from all you instrumentalists out there!
